I have written and directed two documentary series (Asunnottomat and Velkaantuneet) for the Finnish Broadcast Company YLE. I have also color graded two nature documentary films.

In documentary work I focus on social themes and telling honest, authentic and character-driven stories.

I am comfortable working with a small crew – in both of the documentaries I directed, we worked with a crew of two; me and the talented cinematographer Theofanis Kavvadas.

Working with a compact crew allowed more intimacy and trust for more true and authentic presence in front of the camera.

After all, for me documentary is observing, not pushing for an planned outcome.
